Islamabad: The anti-terrorism court (ATC) summoned the PTI Chief Imran Khan on Wednesday in the case of attack on former SSP Asmatullah Junejo during the long sit-in against the PML-N Government.
In the proceedings of the case an application was submitted for Imran Khan’s exemption from the hearings. ATC judge Shahrukh Arjumand, who is hearing the SSP torture case, said PTI Chief should be in the court as verdict would be announced in presence of the accused.
Imran Khan, Asad Umar and other PTI leaders were to appear in court on Wednesday for the hearing of the case of Parliament and PTV attack, which would be heard by ATC judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi.
The PTI chief, PAT leader Tahir-ul-Qadri and other party leaders are being trialed for attacking the Parliament and PTV head office, as well as torturing the then SSP operations Asmatullah Junejo and violating the loud speakers act.
