KARACHI: The metropolis’ authorities have declared emergency after heavy rain have been forecast by Meteorological department.

Karachi Water and Sewerage Board has declared emergency across the city. The authority has instructed workers to be ready 24 hours with cranes, water draining pumps and generators. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain with stormy winds across the city for Thursday and Friday.

However; many of the cities stormwater drains have garbage clogging them. This will cause the water to flood the areas the drains are clogged in. Supreme Court had issued directives to clean these drains, but no action was taken even after the orders.
