ISLAMABAD: Defence counsel, Khawaja Haris takes his concluding arguments into the sixth day in Avenfield Reference case.
Former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif’s counsel, Khawaja Haris resumed his concluding arguments today in Accountability Court. The hearing was pertaining to the Avenfield Reference, which is one of the three corruption cases against Sharif Family.
Into the sixth day of his concluding arguments Khawaja Haris had said JIT head Wajid Zia alleged Nawaz Sharif was London property owner.
NAB prosecutor then accused defence counsel of delaying justice by prolonged finishing argument. However; Khawaja Haris then told the court that his argument will conclude soon.
In the hearing yesterday, Khawaja Haris had hinted on ending his finishing arguments today.
During the hearing on 5th day into his concluding arguments, Khawaja Haris reiterated his stance on the case.
He told the court that NAB had yet to prove the ownership of London flats belonged to his client. He said that Nawaz Sharif was neither the beneficial owner nor related to the flats.
Nawaz Sharif and Maryam, who have been booked in the Avenfield Reference case were exempted from court for three days today. Both father daughter have been tending to the ailing Begum Kulsoom who is admitted in hospital due to critical health conditions.
