Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear the appeal of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Captain (retd) Safdar against Avenfield Reference verdict.
IHC will hear appeal of Nawaz Sharif and his family against Avenfield Reference verdict on Tuesday (today). Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Captain (Retd) Safdar have filed an appeal against the Avenfield Reference verdict in IHC on July 16.
The appeal against the Avenfield verdict highlights the legal flaws in the Avenfield judgments, and asks for the accountability court’s verdict to be declared null and void and the three convicts to be released on bail.
According to the appeal, Wajid Zia, Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head and key witness himself acknowledged that a reaction to the Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) request not received. He further added that leveling charges without accepting a reaction to the MLA was unappropriate.
