ISLAMABAD: Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were granted a day’s exemption from appearing in court in Avenfield Reference.
A hearing for the Avenfield Reference was ongoing in the Accountability Court of Judge Mohammad Bashir. A day’s exemption petition was filed by Maryam Nawaz’s counsel, Amjad Pervez in the Accountability Court.
The petition stated that both Nawaz Sharif and Maryam are in London to tend to the ailing Begum Kulsoom. Pervez also submitted an old medical report of Begum Kulsoom today. He said that a fresh medical report will be submitted in the court tomorrow upon receiving it.
Today Amjad Pervez was to give concluding arguments on behalf of Maryam and Captain (r) Safdar. During the hearing the counsel told the court he would not take too much time unlike Nawaz’s counsel. He vowed to wrap up the finishing arguments in 3 to 4 days.
Court was adjourned till Friday, where Amjad Pervez will continue his concluding arguments in the case.
