Avenfield Verdict: NAB moved Captain Safdar Awan (Retd) to Adiala Jail


Islamabad: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) moved Captain Safdar (Retd) to Adiala Jail Rawalpindi after his appearing before the accountability court.

NAB shifted Captain Safdar Awan (Retd) to Adiala Jail Rawalpindi after he appeared before the accountability court. There were strict arrangements outside the Federal Judicial Complex Islamabad. However, the court sentenced him one year imprisonment in the Avenfield reference verdict. In addition, he is also accused in Al Azizia Steel Mills reference.

Earlier, the Avenfield reference verdict came against Nawaz Sharif and his family. The Accountability Court sentenced the imprisonment of 10, 7, and 1 year to Nawaz, Maryam, and Captain Safdar (retd) respectively. The court also fined Nawaz Sharif and Maryam 8 million and 2 million Pounds respectively.

According to the prison rules, sub-jail is provided to the prisoners if they have life threats. They can wear regular clothes rather than the prison uniforms. In addition, they can also order food from their homes and can also cook for themselves.
