RAWALPINDI: In an operation carried out by Armed Forces in Killi Almas area of Balochistan, a key operative of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi ( LeJ ) was killed along with two other terrorists which were responsible for taking lives of more than 100 from Hazara Community and countless police officers as well.
In a statement issued by the media wing of the ISPR, a key operative of the LeJ, Salman Badeeni, who was the commander of LeJ Balochistan was killed in the operation based on intelligence reports. Along with the commander, two other terrorists were also killed.
The intelligence came from an apprehended target, who gave the information on terrorist outfit targets in the area. The two other terrorists, were suicide bombers, who belonged to Afghanistan according to the ISPR.
In the exchange of fire, however; Colonel Sohail Abid of the Military Intelligence was martyred, along with four other armed force operatives being injured. 2 of the 4 injured armed forces operatives are in critical condition.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi expressed deep grief for the martyrdom of the Military Intelligence Officer, Colonel Sohail. He sympathized with the family of the martyred and said that we are ever united against the coward enemy.
In a statement PM Khaqan Abbasi stated that we have paid high price of blood in the war against terrorists. He said we have paid a high cost for freedom, the cost of our own blood. He added that there is no higher sacrifice than that. PM Khaqan Abbasi said we will stand united against the enemy and we are stand closer than ever.
The funeral prayers of the Colonel of Military Intelligence, Sohail Abid, will be held in his ancestral village of Vehari today.
