Balochistan Parliamentary Committee to Finalize Caretaker CM Today


The parliamentary committee of Balochistan is set to meet today to finalize the name of the caretaker CM.

After meetings to decide caretaker CM between the government and opposition failed, the matter was forwarded to the parliamentary committee.

The committee which comprises of 6 members, will decide on the appointment of a caretaker CM today.

The government and opposition both forwarded 3 names each for the formation of the committee. From the government side Sarfraz Chakar Domki, Tahir Mahmood Khan, Amanullah Notezai were chosen. The opposition chose Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Dr Abdul Maalik Baloch, and Liaquat Agha.

The candidate from the provincial government’s side are Sardar Shoukat Popalzai and Alauddin Marri. The opposition has suggested the names of Mohammad Aslam Bhutani and Ashraf Jahangir Qazi for the interim post.

The Sindh government and opposition had decided the caretaker CM for Sindh after mutual consensus. Fazlur Rehman was chosen for the interim position. He was administered oath at the governor house by Governor Muhammad Zubair.

While the KP parliamentary committee had also failed to decide on the name of the CM for KP after opposition and government couldn’t come to consensus.

The names of candidates were then forwarded to the election commission. ECP earlier on announced Justice (r) Dost Muhammad Khan as the CM of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
