Bank Holiday in Pakistan: All Banks Closed Today (May 28, 2024)

In honor of Youm-e-Takbeer, Pakistan’s financial institutions, including the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and commercial banks nationwide, will not be operational on May 28, 2024. This public holiday in Pakistan, declared by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, serves as a reminder of the nation’s unity and the strength of Pakistan’s defense.

The SBP, in an official notice, confirmed its closure on this significant day, as per the Government of Pakistan’s declaration. This closure extends to commercial banks across the country, ensuring a nationwide observance of this historic day.

Adding to this, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) will also join in the observance by remaining closed for the day. This collective closure of financial institutions underscores the importance of Youm-e-Takbeer in Pakistan’s national calendar.
