Benazir Income Support Monthly Payment Increased: Check Latest Update!

Big news for the beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) as the payment is set to go up from 10,500 rupees to 13,500 rupees next year. The announcement came from BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid during her visit to the Benazir Nashonuma Center at Sindh Government Hospital in PIB Colony, Karachi. She seemed pretty happy with how the center is taking care of women’s needs.

Talking to the media, Senator Rubina highlighted how stunted growth among kids is still a major issue in Pakistan. To tackle this, she shared that the BISP would not just be about cash handouts anymore, but would also give nutritional supplements to mothers for two years. She said, “We want to make sure our children grow healthy.”

Right now, about 9.3 million people are getting benefits from BISP, and according to her, this number is set to touch the 10 million mark by 2025. That’s not just a random figure; it’s about ensuring that more and more people who need help are actually getting it.

She was pretty vocal about how BISP has been a big support for women’s financial needs, calling it one of the country’s major achievements. And there’s more good news on the way; a new Benazir Skill Development Program is also in the works, aimed at providing skills to the youth and boosting their income.

After the 18th Amendment, the Sindh government took charge of health matters, and the senator’s visit highlighted the province’s efforts to keep up with these responsibilities.
