In an effort to uplift and support vulnerable communities, the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) under the Ehsaas Kafalat Scheme has successfully distributed Rs. 45 billion among eligible beneficiaries across Pakistan. From January to March 2024, a total of Rs. 10,500 per household has been disbursed through the Ehsaas Income Support Program (BISP), benefiting 4.5 million families nationwide.
The Ehsaas Kafalat Program, aimed at providing financial assistance to the most deserving, has reached approximately 45 million beneficiaries, constituting 49.5% of the total eligible individuals. This significant distribution of funds reflects the program’s commitment to improving livelihoods and reducing poverty levels in the country.
Under this initiative, cash assistance for three months (January to March) has been seamlessly disbursed across all provinces, including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Notably, an increased payment of Rs. 1,000 per household has been implemented simultaneously, benefiting over 10 million registered recipients.
To ensure easy access to these essential funds, beneficiaries are advised to collect their payments through authorized bank agents or representatives. In case of any issues or queries, individuals can contact the toll-free number 080026477 or visit nearby collection offices for assistance.
Apart from financial aid, the Ehsaas Kafalat Program also focuses on educational stipends and special grants, particularly during Ramadan, to further support eligible individuals and families. This holistic approach underscores the program’s dedication to addressing various socio-economic challenges faced by vulnerable communities.
Furthermore, a dedicated control room at the BISP headquarters has been activated to address beneficiaries’ concerns promptly. Beneficiaries can also reach out via WhatsApp on designated numbers for efficient communication and support.
The success of the Ehsaas Kafalat Program highlights its pivotal role as Pakistan’s largest cash transfer initiative, providing a lifeline to millions of families and contributing significantly to poverty alleviation efforts nationwide.
