The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has taken a significant step to ease the process for families enrolled in the BISP Kafaalat Program by expanding its list of partner banks. Now, instead of relying on just two banks, six banks will help distribute the quarterly installment of Rs 10,500 to the 9.3 million households registered under the program. This change comes after numerous complaints from beneficiaries who faced difficulties in withdrawing their funds due to limited banking options.
At present, BISP is supporting over 9.3 million families, and there are plans to increase this number to 10 million by next year. Currently, beneficiaries receive Rs 10,500 per quarter, but come January 2025, this amount will increase to Rs 13,500, providing even more support to those in need.
To make it easier for the registered families to withdraw their installments, BISP has collaborated with Bank Al Falah, Bank of Punjab, Mobilink Microfinance, Telenor Microfinance Bank, Habib Bank Limited, and HBL Microfinance. These banks, with their widespread ATM networks, offer access to beneficiaries across Pakistan, ensuring a smoother and more convenient withdrawal process.
