Polling is under way for the by-election on Balochistan Assembly seat PB-47.
Polling began at 8 am and will continue till 5 pm.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has declared all 60 polling stations extremely sensitive and levies armed force and Frontier Corps personnel have been deployed.
A public holiday has also been declared in Kech district by the provincial government owing to the by-election on Balochistan Assembly seat PB-47.
During the 2018 general election, Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) Abdul Rauf Rind had emerged as the successful candidate on PB-47. However, ECP had declared the election null and void as Rind was a dual national.
