CAA issued notices to airlines for canceling scheduled domestic flights

The Civil Aviation Authority has issued notices to five airline operators, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), for canceling scheduled domestic flights.

Aviation Authority releases the statement quote that they have noticed public complaints. Passengers are facing trouble regarding cancelation of scheduled flights.  Airline operators are busy operating scheduled domestic flights inside Pakistan, canceling flights without prior notice.

These airlines have been doing this for operational reasons. Aircraft are being used for international chartered operations instead of scheduled domestic flights.

The statement further said that in the light of the cancellation of the above 383 flights from October 1 to October 18, a total proportion of 33.4% has been shown. However, Authorities immediately suspend permission for all international chartered flights.

The CAA clarified that the cancellation of domestic flights, if any, will only be due to technical reasons or due to compelling circumstances.

Domestic flight cancellations for technical reasons will only be from the Air Force Directorate.

It is the duty of Pakistan CAA to maintain the spirit of public convenience and need on priority.
