Chaudhry Sugar Mills: Maryam Nawaz arrested, taken into NAB custody

In the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case, National Accountability Bureau arrested Pakistan Muslim League Nawazs Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Thursday.

PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz arrested after taken into the NAB custody. However, she was detained in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. ON the other side, her cousin Yousaf Abbas is also under the NAB detention. Maryam Nawaz Sharif arrested before meeting to her father and former PM Nawaz Sharif at the Kot Lakhpat Jail. Later, she was moved to the NAB :Lahore office.

On 31 July, Maryam appeared before NAB and gave her statement regarding the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. However, her arrest was mentioned by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during the session of National Assembly. He said that in Naya Pakistan Maryam is arrested without any conviction.

On the other side, Shahzad Akbar, the Special Assistant to PM on Accountability, revealed that the Sharif Family utilized the Chaudhry Sugar Mills for the illegal transfer of shares and money laundering.
