Chicken Price in Lahore Drops by Rs 39 per Kilogram: Check New Rates Here!

In a surprising turn of events, Lahore’s retail market witnessed a significant drop in chicken prices on Monday. The cost per kilogram plummeted by Rs 39, settling at a new rate of Rs 416/kg.

Poultry dealers have linked this decrease to a slump in chicken demand. They also forecast a further dip in chicken prices in the days to come. Just a day before, on Sunday, chicken meat was retailing at Rs 455/kg.

According to the association, chicken prices have seen a substantial reduction of Rs 259 per kg over the past three weeks. The cost of chicks has also seen a downward trend, dropping from Rs 220 to a mere Rs 100.

Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, had earlier pledged to take strict action against those exploiting chicken consumers. In an effort to tackle the issue directly, she implemented rigorous measures against poultry farmers and traders. This included requisitioning stock data from these stakeholders to investigate the sudden price hike.
