Chicken Rate Today in Lahore: July 2024 Update

After a brief downward trend, chicken meat prices in Pakistan are on the rise again, particularly in Lahore and other Punjab markets. Following a significant drop in prices due to decreased consumption during Eidul Adha 2024, when sacrificial animals were preferred, chicken rates have surged once more.

As of July 20, the price of chicken meat in Lahore jumped by Rs 18 to Rs 595 per kilogram, with official rates confirming this increase. Additionally, eggs have been set at Rs 258 per dozen in Lahore and surrounding areas.

Citizens are feeling the pinch, with rising utility bills and basic commodity costs, and are calling on the government to act against the alleged chicken mafia. Meanwhile, cooking oil, ghee, and lentil prices have also risen in domestic markets, mirroring Pakistan’s recent petrol price hike. With prices escalating, consumers are bracing for further inflationary pressures.
