Chicken Rate Today in Pakistan: Retailers Shut Shops as Prices Soar to Rs. 495 per kg

In a shocking turn of events, the chicken rate today has skyrocketed, leaving consumers in a lurch. The dream of procuring chicken at official rates seems to be fading as the poultry crisis intensifies. The situation has escalated to such an extent that traders have decided to cease the supply of poultry starting today.

The Punjab Poultry Traders Association has taken a firm stand, deciding against supplying poultry to broiler vendors in the metropolitan and other areas of Punjab. This move is part of a strike that commences today. The official supply rate for live broiler has seen a hike of Rs22 per kg, bringing it to Rs463 per kg. However, poultry traders have taken matters into their own hands, issuing their own price list and raising the supply rate by an additional Rs32 per kg to Rs495 per kg.

This sudden surge in prices has led many retail broiler meat shop owners to keep their businesses closed in various parts of the city. The Punjab Poultry Traders Association alleges that they are charged exorbitant prices by chicken producers. They appealed to the administration to enforce the official supply rate of chicken, which should determined based on demand and supply, as was the practice previously.

As the chicken rate today continues to climb, consumers and traders alike are eagerly awaiting a resolution to this crisis. The current situation serves as a stark reminder of the volatility of market prices and the impact it can have on both businesses and consumers.
