Islamabad: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar has just issued orders that the relevant authorities arrest and present Faisal Raza Abidi in Court. The former PPP Senator Faisal Raza Abidi had spoken ill about the judiciary on which the court has ordered him to be present in a case of contempt of court.
Details of Case Against Faisal Raza Abidi
Hearing a contempt case against Abidi, a three-member bench of Supreme Court headed by the CJP himself remarked that the former senator should be brought before the court at the next hearing.
The Supreme Court had issued a notice to Abidi this tuesday over his use of disrespectful language against the judiciary on a private television channel a few days ago. During the hearing Court had taken notice against the channel for airing such language against the court adding that the channel authorities should be ashamed of themselves. They ordered that the authorities are to present Faisal Raza Abidi who had used such language against the court in the next hearing.
The Channel had said that they had issued an official apology on air and that the anchorperson in-charge of the show was also fired. But CJP said that the court does not accept such an apology, saying how can a channel air such language after viewing it, they should be ashamed.
