He said that the killers are openly holding rallies while the Hazara people face persecution. While presiding the first hearing of a suo mottu case he had initiated on May 2, CJP Saqib Nisar asked why does targeted attacks still happen against the Hazara brethren in Quetta?
During the month of April, Hazara people staged sit-ins throughout the city of Quetta. They had recently ended the wave of protests after COAS General Javed Qamar Bajwa and Interior Minister met them and assured security. The CJP also met a delegation of the Hazara people while on his trip to Quetta. The delegation informed him of the frequent attacks on the community people.
The first hearing of the suo mottu case happened at the Supreme Court’s Quetta registry today. The Balochistan police chief, Moazzam Ja Ansari, showed the top judge the report on the killings of the Hazara people.
CJP Saqib Nisar said he does not have words to condemn these brutal incidents. He said he had to take suo motu notice of this case because this is genocide. He then inquired about the whereabouts of the Frontier Corps (FC) IG? Where FC officials told the court that the IG, Major Gen Nadeem Anjum, was in Islamabad. The official said he is representing the IG at the moment in his absence.
Justice Nisar told the court that he had met the Hazara people in Quetta. He said that they are so scared that they cannot even submit a petition in the Supreme Court. CJP Saqib Nisar said that they are unable to find lawyers amid their persecution. The top judge remarked we have to protect the lives and property of the Hazara people. He issued an order that all the agencies are to submit a report in 15 days on why the attacks against the Hazara community continue.

The CJP said he also noticed that the Hazara people are unable to get admissions in universities. They cannot even attend classes in schools and go to hospitals due to fear, he added. CJP Saqib Nisar asked if Hazaras were not Pakistani citizens. He asked that whose responsibility is it to provide the community security?
A lawyer who was representing the Hazara community, Iftikhar Ali, said that a security plan was devised back in 2013.
