Under this scheme, thousands of Core i7, 13th-generation laptops will be distributed to deserving students. The Punjab government plans to allocate a significant number of laptops to meritorious students, including 2000 minority students and position holders in Secondary and Higher Secondary School Examinations. Additionally, 32% of the total laptops will be reserved for students from South Punjab.
Laptop Distribution Breakdown
The Punjab government has outlined a structured distribution plan for the laptops:
- 20,000 laptops for university students
- 14,000 laptops for college students
- 4,000 laptops for technical and agricultural college students
- 2,000 laptops for medical and dental college students
The scheme covers students from various disciplines, including computer science, engineering, social sciences, business, medicine, veterinary medicine, and agriculture.
How to Register for the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025
Unlike previous years, there will be no online application process for the laptop scheme. Instead, the educational institutions will compile and submit lists of eligible students to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Punjab. Once verified, HEC Punjab will release the final list of selected students.

Eligibility Criteria for the Laptop Scheme
To qualify for a laptop under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025, students must fulfill the following conditions:
- Must be domiciled in any district of Punjab.
- Should not exceed 22 years of age as of the last date.
- Family’s monthly income should be less than Rs. 300,000 (Affidavit required).
- Must be enrolled in selected subjects at selected universities and colleges for the Fall Session 2024.
Selection Process for the Laptop Scheme
The Punjab government will select students based on:
- Academic Performance – Students with higher marks and GPAs will be prioritized.
- Written Exam – Some students may need to pass an online written exam.
- Document Verification – All submitted documents will be verified by HEC Punjab.
