CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Offers Helicopter for Patient Transport

In a recent meeting held in Lahore, Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, made a groundbreaking announcement. She has decided to dedicate her personal helicopter for emergency patient transport, marking a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility in the region.

The decision came after an in-depth discussion about the air ambulance service. The Chief Minister expressed her concern over the high mortality rate in Pakistan due to delayed hospital admissions. She emphasized the urgency of timely medical attention, especially in remote areas of the province.

A recent visit to Sargodha hospital, where she encountered a cardiac patient in distress, deeply moved the Chief Minister. This incident further reinforced her commitment to enhancing emergency healthcare services.

In addition to the air ambulance initiative, the Chief Minister also revealed plans to extend the Rescue1122 service to motorways. This move aims to ensure rapid response during emergencies.

The meeting concluded with the Chief Minister’s assurance that the air ambulance service would soon be operational in Punjab. The announcement was met with approval from the attendees, including Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Adviser Pervaiz Rashid, and ministers for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education, and Primary and Secondary Health, Khawaja Salman Rafiq and Khawaja Imran Nazir, respectively.
