COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed the death sentence of 12 terrorists


Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed the death sentence of twelve high profile terrorists.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) revealed that COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed death sentence of terrorists sentenced by military courts. The convicts did several terrorist activities in the country. They were involved in heinous offences including attacks on law enforcement agencies and security officers.

In addition, terrorists were also involved in the destruction of telephone exchange, educational institution, and several civilians. Some convicts were also involved in the attack on Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu jails.

According to ISPR press release, on the whole, convicts killed 99 people. It includes 7 civilians, 92 police officials, Frontier Constabulary (FC), and armed forces. They further added that explosives and arms were also found from their possession. In addition, an imprisonment has been awarded to 6 other convicts.

A few months back, a statement by ISPR stated that the army chief had sanctioned death sentences for 10 terrorists, including qawwal Amjad Sabri’s killers, convicted by military courts. The terrorists were involved in heinous crimes, including an attack on Pearl Continental Hotel in Peshawar.
