The ongoing spell of cold wave in Karachi is likely to persist in the metropolis for the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Metrological Department.

On Monday morning, the minimum temperature measured in Karachi was 12 degrees Celsius, while the humidity level in the air was recorded at 50 per cent.
The weather department said continental air is likely to prevail over most parts of the country during next few days.
Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country.
In the northern areas of Pakistan, extreme cold weather and frost is expected during morning hours.
Dense/shallow foggy conditions are likely to prevail in few central and southern parts of Punjab during morning/night hours.
The minimum temperature recorded in the country was –11°C in Skardu, followed by -09°C in Astore and Gupis, while Kalam iced-up with -08°C, Quetta-07°C, Kalat -06°C, Bagrote-05°C and Gilgit, Dir-04°C.
