Customs Destroyed Rs1.15 Billion Worth of Goods and Liquor in Karachi

Pakistan Customs Enforcement Collectorate Karachi organized destruction and incineration activity at Gadap Town, Karachi, in which seized smuggled, dangerous and expired goods had been destroyed. It was organised by Collector Customs Enforcement Karachi, Moinuddin Ahmed Wani.

Pakistan Customs and its senior officials, Sindh Rangers and Sindh Police, intelligence agencies and other departments as well as business communities representatives were in attendance.

Collector Moinuddin Wani briefed attendees on recent successful anti-smuggling operations and reiterated the department’s ongoing efforts to combat land and sea smuggling, prevent the spread of narcotics, and protect local industry from illegal trade.

During the event, smuggled goods worth Rs1.15 billion were destroyed. Items included:

  • 3,969 bottles of foreign liquor
  • 408 cans of foreign beer
  • 2.316 kg of hashish
  • 337,008 kg of hazardous betel nut
  • 26,093 kg of Indian gutka
  • 90,509 sticks of foreign cigarettes
  • 48,948 cans of Iranian juice
  • 53,326 kg of Chinese salt (Ajinomoto)
  • 62,770 kg of powdered milk
  • 26,420 liters of edible oil
  • 4,335 kg of edible ghee
  • Expired medicines, chocolates, biscuits, cakes, and cosmetics

Pakistan Customs continues enforcement operations against illegal trade and drug smuggling to safeguard public health, local industry, and the national economy.
