Karachi: Director General Civil Aviation Authority (DG CAA) Hassan Baig denied using Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane for personal tour.
DG CAA Hassan Baig denied the use of PIA plane for the private tour of Nanga Parbat. He elaborated that he went for the air safari on PIA CEO’s request. He further added that PIA told him that they’re starting the air safari and that is the reason of invitation.
DG CAA alleged for taking his friends on a tour of Nanga Parbat in PIA plane. In addition, passengers are believed to be waited on Skardu Airport for the arrival of their scheduled flight. According to reports, when plane landed at Skardu Airport after the delay of several hours, passengers made a great protest.
However, DG CAA said that the PIA management is responsible for the delay in flight. He said that there will be an inquiry against the involved people. He further added that he also wrote a letter to national carrier to clarify the matter.
Flight delayed due to bad weather, PIA Spokesperson
Mashood Tajwar, PIA spokesperson, said that flight to Skardu delayed due to the bad weather conditions and not because of air safari. He said that they apologize passengers for the delay and the incident may be occurred due to the miscommunication.
