Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressed the nation today regarding internal stability. The military spokesperson labeled Imran Khan a “mentally unstable” security threat during the DG ISPR press conference. He presented evidence linking political narratives to interference from India and Afghanistan, warning against inciting division between the public and armed forces.
Pakistan’s military leadership drew a red line today. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that one individual now poses a direct threat to national security. Speaking at a defining DG ISPR press conference, he identified PTI Chairman Imran Khan as “mentally unstable.” The General emphasized that personal ambitions cannot supersede the state. He asserted that authorities will not allow anyone to incite the public against the armed forces.
The spokesperson displayed videos showing PTI social media accounts operating directly from Afghanistan and India. He noted how Indian media happily amplifies anti-army statements. General Chaudhry cited a specific tweet from the former chairman that went viral through foreign channels within minutes. He argued this specific narrative harms the state. He condemned calls for citizens to stop remittances or electricity payments.
The military rejects the “elite” label. General Chaudhry reminded reporters that soldiers come from the middle class. He warned that the state will not tolerate incitement against the army. The message at the DG ISPR press conference remained absolute: politics must remain separate from military matters. He stated the army stands as a shield between India and the Pakistani people.
The General questioned who has the right to distribute “certificates of treason.” He reiterated that freedom of expression does not cover security compromises. This DG ISPR press conference marks a definitive shift in the institution’s tolerance for anti-state rhetoric.
