DG ISPR Slams VOA Radio over Propaganda of Killing Young Man

DG ISPR rejected the VOA radio news of security forces killing a young man in Waziristan, claiming it a propaganda.

The director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Sunday night on Twitter that, “No one was killed or wounded by the security forces’ firing.”
Voice of America’s (VoA) Deewa Radio originally shared a tweet pertaining to the alleged incident of killing a man. DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor denied the claim and regarded VoA’s act as the tradition of propaganda-based reporting.

The DG ISPR wrote in his official tweet: “While an inquiry has been ordered to ascertain facts, no assurance given for any court martial. No one was killed/injured by Forces.”

“@voadeewa keeps up its tradition of false reporting,” he added.

DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor mentioned that he had advised commencing an inquiry to determine the facts in the said case but did not provide any type of reassurance regarding a possible court-martial.

“People of Waziristan are peace loving and value the attained peace,” he added, referring to locals’ being a peaceful people and that they desire to uphold the custom of peace.

DG ISPR made it clear that security forces are responsible and professionally trained. They have given their services for maintaining peace in the region.
