A journey through Defence roads unveils a delightful transformation upon reaching Bukhari Commercial Area in DHA Phase VI. This locale exudes an inviting ambiance, a testament to its recent upgrade.
The area is adorned with vibrant light poles, each boasting unique artwork featuring flora and fauna. The pedestrian-friendly signals and informative boards ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all.
The locale’s infrastructure has been meticulously planned. Smooth, wheelchair-accessible footpaths, 24/7 charged fire hydrants, and well-marked roads with zebra crossings enhance the area’s functionality. Additional amenities include greenbelts, wooden benches, and designated parking spaces on pebbled open plots.
This transformation is the result of six months of diligent renovation and repair work, spearheaded by Rehan Iqbal Maggoo, Member Councillor for Cantonment Board Clifton’s (CBC) Ward 5. The revamped Bukhari Commercial Area, which spans over 53 acres, was unveiled at the end of Ramazan.
Before the renovation, Mr. Maggoo ensured the completion of all underground work, including the proper layout of pipes, cables, and wires from the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and the Sui Southern Gas Company. This foresight prevents future road excavations for repairs or maintenance.
The area’s makeover has sparked a positive change in people’s attitudes, encouraging them to maintain cleanliness. Strategically placed dustbins facilitate this behavioral shift.
The upgrade has also boosted property values in the area, making it an attractive investment opportunity. Mr. Maggoo hopes that Bukhari Commercial will inspire similar transformations in other areas, serving as a model of urban renewal.
