Did K-Electric Change Peak Hours? Official Statement Issued

K-Electric confirmed that there is no change in its existing peak and off-peak hours schedule for residential customers with a sanctioned load of 5kW or more, typically under the Time of Use (TOU) billing system. As of July 14, 2025, K-Electric peak hours remain fixed and unchanged, despite recent social media speculation.

According to K-Electric, the current peak hours for April to October are from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM, while for November to March, the peak hours are from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The remaining 20 hours of the day are categorized as off-peak, during which electricity is charged at a lower rate. These timings are applicable to TOU customers with three-phase meters. Single-phase meter users with a sanctioned load below 5kW are not affected by TOU rates and are billed under the standard slab system.

K-Electric’s official X account (@KElectricPk) and spokesperson Imran Rana clarified that peak hours remain as per NEPRA-approved schedules. The clarification follows circulating misinformation regarding changes to peak timings.
