K-Electric clarified that it has no modification in its current peak and off-peak hours regime on residential consumers whose nominated load is 5kW or above, usually under the Time of Use (TOU) billing regime. By July 14, 2025, K-Electric peak hours stay the same and do not depend on the recent rumors on the social media.
The present peak hours of K-Electric during April to October range between 6:30 PM and 10:30 PM, and 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM during November to March. The rest of 20 hours of the day are segregated into the off-peak hours where electricity is charged at a lesser rate. These schedules apply to TOU customers whose meters take three phases. These TOU rates do not apply to single-phase meters users whose sanctioned load is less than 5kW, which are placed in the usual slab system.
K-Electric’s official X account (@KElectricPk) and spokesperson Imran Rana clarified that peak hours remain as per NEPRA-approved schedules. The clarification follows circulating misinformation regarding changes to peak timings.
