The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has significantly raised the fees for attestation of legal documents. According to the new fee schedule:
- Personal or Educational Documents: The attestation fee has increased from Rs700 to Rs3,000 per document.
- Legal Documents: The fee has surged from Rs700 to Rs4,500 per document.
- Commercial Documents: The fee has been hiked from Rs3,000 to Rs12,000 per document.
Document attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is valid for six months. If the documents are not utilized within this period, re-attestation is required.
A spokesperson for the ministry announced that the attestation of educational, legal, and commercial documents will resume on Monday with the new rates. The ministry is closed for attestation services on Saturdays and Sundays.
Citizens seeking document attestation can visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad or its liaison offices in Lahore, Karachi, and other cities. The ministry has also removed the requirement for prior appointments, allowing citizens to use the walk-in service for attestation.
