Islamabad: Shah Mehmood Qureshi revealed that Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok assured to not support blasphempous caricature contest.
Dutch FM spoke with Shah Mehmood and assured that the government will not support blasphempous caricature contest. During conversation, Foreign Minister of Pakistan showed deep concern over blasphempous caricature contest by Party of Freedom leader Greet Wilders. However, Foreign Ministers of both countries agreed to co-operate in this matter.
On Monday, a consistent goals was received by the Senate against blasphempous caricature contest in Netherlands. In June this year, Dutch enemy of Islam government official Greet Wilders reported the holding of blasphempous caricature contest about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Talking on the floor of the Senate, Prime Minister Imran Khan said the administration would take up the issue of disrespectful cartoons in the up and coming UN General Assembly session. Imran Khan additionally said that the government will organize the issue and take it up with the worldwide Muslim body, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Amid yesterday’s Senate session, FM Qureshi said he had composed a letter to the OIC Secretary General on this issue, requesting that he assemble a conference in Jeddah. He further added that letters were likewise composed to the six member countries of OIC.
