Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) newly formed government asked Dr Atif Mian to step down from the Economic Advisory Council (EAC).
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that the government asked Atif Mian to withdraw from the EAC appointment. He further added that their government wants to take all social classes and ulema and further move forward. He said that it is not better if appointment of any person causes differences.
حکومت نے فیصلہ کیا ہے کہ عاطف میاں کی اقتصادی مشاورتی کمیٹی سے نامزدگی واپس لے لی جائے،حکومت علماء اور تمام معاشرتی طبقات کو ساتھ لے کر ہی آگے بڑھنا چاہتی ہے اور اگر ایک نامزدگی سے مختلف تاثر پیدا ہوتا ہے تو یہ مناسب نہیں۔

PTI Senator, Faisal Javed also tweeted that Atif Mian decided to step down from EAC. Faisal said that Dr Atif was asked to withdraw from the Economic Advisory Council which he accepted. He further added that the replacement will be announced later.

Earlier, In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the resolution has been submitted against the appointment of Atif Mian as a member of the Finance Commission.
The PML-N MPA Sobia Shahid, submitted the resolution against the appointment of Atif Mian. She said that Qadyanis do not believe on Khatm-e-Nabuwat. She further added that awarding him a key position is against Islamic values. The appointment of Atif is found uncomfortable among Muslims.
