The Election Commission of Pakistan has changed the election schedule of upcoming General Elections 2018 on Friday. Polling date remains 25th July 2018.
The ECP has also extended the date for submission of nomination papers for the assistance of political parties.
The nomination papers can now be submitted until June 11 2018. Candidatures for reserved seats for women and minorities could also be submitted until the same date.
The inspection of nomination papers deadline is also extended from 14th June 2018 to 19th June 2018.
Appeals against any objection to the decisions of returning officers can now be filed till 22nd June 2018. The verdict on such appeals will be announced by 27th June 2018. The final revised list of the candidates will be issued on 28th June 2018.
Election candidates can withdraw their nomination papers on 29th June 2018. The final list of the candidates will be announced on the same day. The symbols for competing elections will be issued on 30th June 2018.
The adjusted election schedule is also applicable for candidates contesting the elections on reserved seats.
Election Commission of Pakistan has decided June 8th as the last date for nomination papers submission.
A meeting in association with the participation of international observers in the General Elections 2018 was held in Islamabad on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by Secretary Elections. The meeting reviewed the legal provision as per Election Act 2017.
The ECP restated its policy to allow national & international observers and international media to participate in the process of General Election 2018.
