The Election Commission of Pakistan has regarded 20,700 ‘sensitive’ polling stations in the briefing to Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (Retd) Nasir ul Mulk on Monday.
ECP also briefed Caretaker PM Nasir ul Mulk over possible evil plans to interrupt the election process. Election Commission also recommended the caretaker government to set up monitoring centres in all four provinces with the help of security and law enforcing agencies.
The Election Commission Pakistan demanded the caretaker government to install CCTV cameras on sensitive polling stations. They also emphasized to provide air surveillance support during the transportation of ballot papers to the sensitive polling stations.
Election Commission of Pakistan announced to extend the time of polling in the 25 July Pakistan Election 2018 by one hour. This step is taken to ensure maximum participation of voters.
As per the revised timings, election polling will now be held from 8am to 6pm, for a total of 10 hours uninterrupted.
According to the sources, this is the first time the polling duration has been extended across the board in the country’s election history.
