QUETTA: Election Commission of Pakistan ( ECP ) will now finalize a name for the post of caretaker CM of Balochistan.
Today, the meeting of Balochistan Assembly parliamentary committee to decide on a name for the interim post failed. After which the decision was forwarded to the ECP.
Last night, former CM Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo had raised objection over the constitution of the committee members. He said that the former opposition representatives for the parliamentary committee are controversial.
Abdul Quddus Bizenjo added that the former opposition had not consulted rest of the parties before submitting names of candidates for committee.
The six-member parliamentary committee had comprised of three government representatives and three from former opposition.
Sarfraz Chakar Domki, Tahir Mahmood Khan, Amanullah Notezai were the three members representing the government side.
While opposition members for the parliamentary committee included Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, and Liaquat Agha.
The former provincial government has suggested names of Sardar Shoukat Popalzai and Alauddin Marri for caretaker CM of Balochistan.
The former opposition has recommended the names of Mohammad Aslam Bhutani and Ashraf Jahangir Qazi for the interim post.
ECP had earlier decided on Justice (r) Dost Muhammad Khan as caretaker CM of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
