The Election Commission of Pakistan will finalize the name of caretaker CM for KPK within two days.
The decision of ECP came as parliamentary committee failed to decide on the name for the post.
Former speaker Asad Qaiser also said, the names proposed by former chief minister Pervez Khattak and opposition leader will be referred to the Election commission of Pakistan. The final decision will be made in two days time.
The two nominated candidates recommended by former chief minister KPK and former leader of opposition include bureaucrat Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi, Justice (Retd.), Dost Muhammad, bureaucrat Himayatullah Khan, and businessman Manzoor Khan Afridi.
Election Commission of Pakistan confirmed receiving suggestions, and has assured that the final name would be announced within the given time.
The parliamentary committee was formed to decide and appoint a caretaker chief minister for KPK province. The committee met on June 2nd 2018 at KP House Islamabad.
The meeting comprise of three representatives each from the government and JUI-F.
Prior to the meeting, Awami National Party leader Sardar Hussain Babak raised issues over composition of the committee. He was of the opinion that former CM KPK and opposition leader Lutfur-Rehman did not consulted leaders from other parties and decided the names of the committee members.
