Eid holidays 2025 will come with stricter safety regulations as the Punjab Home Department has imposed a ban on all temporary mechanical rides set up for a short duration during the festive period. This decision has been taken to prevent accidents and ensure public safety during the Eid holidays when families, especially with children, flock to amusement spots.
Eid Holidays See Rise in Accidents from Temporary Rides
Eid holidays in the past have unfortunately been marked by tragic incidents involving malfunctioning mechanical rides in cities like Lahore, Multan, and others. Several lives have been lost and many injured due to faulty installations that were temporarily set up for festive crowds. This consistent pattern of accidents has forced authorities to take a proactive step this year ahead of Eidul Azha 2025.
Eid Holidays 2025: Only Certified Permanent Rides
Eid holidays will still allow families to enjoy mechanical rides — but only those that are permanently installed in certified amusement parks, theme parks, and designated play areas. According to the Punjab Home Department’s latest notification, these rides must be backed by a valid fitness certificate confirming that all safety and technical inspections have been carried out.
Safety Inspections Now Mandatory for All Ride Operators
Eid holidays will now require ride operators to provide documented safety clearances to their respective Deputy Commissioners. Only after ensuring compliance with all safety standards will rides be allowed to function. The move is part of an ongoing initiative to avoid the repeat of past disasters during Eid holidays in Pakistan.
During Eidul Fitr 2025 earlier this year also saw a similar ban, signaling a clear stance by the Punjab government towards public safety over temporary entertainment. By continuing the ban into Eidul Azha 2025, the authorities are ensuring that only regulated, professionally maintained rides are made accessible during the peak festive time.
Eid Holidays 2025 Confirmed to Begin on June 6
Eid holidays will officially begin on Saturday, June 6, 2025, as announced by Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, that Eid ul Adha 2025 will be on 7th June 2025. The moon-sighting committee confirmed the date after conducting a meeting in Islamabad to assess the moon visibility reports.
Eid holidays are a time of joy and celebration, especially for children. Families planning day-outs during Eidul Azha 2025 are advised to choose only licensed and well-maintained amusement parks. With the ban on temporary mechanical rides in place, citizens are urged to prioritize safety and follow all government advisories during the Eid holidays.
