The Punjab Home Department has put in place new rules under Section 144 to keep the sale of sacrificial animals limited to designated cattle markets as Eidul Adha 2024 approaches. This step aims to organize the animal trade and ensure public safety during the busy festive season.
Swimming in Canals Banned
In addition to regulating animal sales, Section 144 bans burning trotters in public places throughout Punjab. This measure is intended to prevent public health risks and environmental damage. Swimming, bathing, and boating in rivers, canals, and dams are also prohibited to ensure the safety of residents during this period.
Animal Waste Disposing Banned in Drains
The government has taken further steps to protect the environment by banning the disposal of animal waste into manholes, drains, and canals. These restrictions are part of a broader effort to maintain cleanliness and prevent pollution in public areas.
These regulations are in effect across Punjab until Sunday, June 23, with local authorities tasked with enforcing them. The objective is to maintain order and protect public health as communities prepare for Eidul Adha.
