According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the public holidays for Eidul Fitr 2025 will be observed from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2. This three-day holiday period will allow people to celebrate Eid with their families and loved ones.

Eidul Fitr 2025 in Pakistan is expected to be celebrated on Monday, March 31, following the completion of 29 days of Ramadan. The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has predicted that the Shawwal crescent is likely to be sighted on the evening of Sunday, March 30, 2025.
Shawwal Moon Sighting in Pakistan Prediction
Khalid Ijaz Mufti, the Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, stated that the new moon will be born on Saturday, March 29, at 3:58 PM Pakistan time. By sunset on Sunday, March 30, the moon’s age will exceed 26 hours, making it easily visible to the naked eye under clear weather conditions.
According to Mufti, the moon must be at least 18 hours old at sunset for it to be sighted, a condition that will be easily met. Additionally, the time gap between sunset and moonset, which is crucial for visibility, will also exceed the minimum required threshold of 40 minutes across different cities in Pakistan.

With clear weather conditions, the council anticipates no difficulties in confirming the crescent sighting. As a result, Eidul Fitr 2025 in Pakistan is expected to be observed on March 31, allowing families to come together and celebrate the joyous occasion.
