EU Decides To Maintain Pakistan’s GSP Plus Status

The European Commission has decided to maintain Pakistan’s status as a General Priority System Plus (GSP +). The decision comes in the context of Pakistan’s efforts to ensure stability in Afghanistan.

Consultations are underway between the Pakistan Joint Commission and the European Union. However, current review does not address Pakistan individually.

According to European Commission, New terms for GSP Plus have discussed. Six new conventions are impose to it.

The new conventions include the disable person�s rights, the elimination of child labor and the protection of the environment.

The European Commission praises Pakistan for good legislation to protect workers and the environment, while raising awareness of human rights concerns.

GSP Plus incentives given to Pakistani products for access to European markets will continue.
