Karachi, May 29, 2024 — Karachi residents should brace themselves for a significant rise in temperatures over the next few days. Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has warned that the city could experience a high of 40 degrees Celsius today, with the mercury potentially climbing to 42 degrees Celsius in the following two days.
Currently, the interior regions of Sindh are already facing extreme heat, with temperatures soaring to a scorching 53 degrees Celsius this season. This intense heat wave is a stark reminder of the record-breaking temperature of 54 degrees Celsius recorded in Turbat in May 2017, the highest ever documented in Pakistan’s history.
The heatwave is likely to impact daily life in Karachi, making it crucial for residents to take precautions against the sweltering conditions. Hydration, avoiding direct sunlight, and staying indoors during peak hours are recommended to cope with the heat.
As the city prepares for this heatwave, staying informed and taking necessary measures will be key to weathering the extreme temperatures expected over the next few days.
