Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today ordered inquiry against Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s (PTI) leader Aleem Khan.
ECP ordered the inquiry against PTI leader Aleem Khan for submitting fake affidavits. Justice (retd) Sardar Mehmood Raza Khan, Chief election commissioner, heard the petition submitted by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
Former National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq filed plea agianst Aleem Khan before ECP. He alleged that Aleem filled fake affidavits to support the petition to declare the by-election results of NA-122 Lahore null and void as they were conducted under the old delimitation.
In the petition, Ayaz Sadiq further said that the Punjab senior minister also filed fake affidavits with regard to the transfer of votes in NA-122 Lahore.
After accepting Ayaz Sadiq’s petition, ECP ordered him to submit the petition in the sessions court. In addition, ECP also ordered the inquiry against the senior minister of Punjab.
