Fatima Surayya Bajia: Google honors legendary writer on 88th birthday


Karachi: Google honored the late Pakistani drama writer and novelist Fatima Surayya Bajia with doodle on her 88th birthday.

Google honored Fatima Surayya Bajia by releasing doodle on her 88th birthday. However, she was the sister of author and comedian Anwar Maqsood and late chef Zubaida Tariq. In addition, her sister Zehra Nigah was also a well-known poet.

Fatima Surayya Bajia was born in Hyderabad Deccan, India on September 1, 1930. However, she migrated with her family to Pakistan in 1947.

Google often acknowledge key personalities with special logos that called Doodles. Previously, Google also paid tribute to Mehdi Hassan, Abdul Sattar Edhi, Nazia Hassan, and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Fatima Surayya Bajia did not possess any proper degree. However, she extensively studied Persian, Urdu literature, English, Arabic, and history. She also look after her younger siblings after the death of her father and grandfather.

Fatima Surayya received multiple awards including Pakistan’s Pride of Performance Award and Hilal-i-Imtiaz.
