LAHORE: PTI spokesperson, Fawad Chaudry was permitted by Lahore High Court (LHC) to contest elections 2018 from NA-67 Jhelum.
Yesterday, tribunal had rejected the nomination of PTI leader Fawad Chaudry to contest elections from NA-67 Jhelum. However; he had appealed in Lahore High Court against the tribunal’s decision.
In a tweet he called LHC’s decision a victory for the party and a victory for people of Jhelum.
In an earlier tweet he had thanked the leadership of Pakistan Bar Council and Lahore High Court Bar Association. He termed his disqualification, an illegal verdict by the tribunal.
Chaudry’s nomination was disqualified from the home constituency of NA-67, Jhelum on Thursday. Justice and Democratic Party’s Fakhar Abbas Kazmi had filed an appeal against the acceptance his nomination papers by RO.
Kazmi had stated in the petition that the PTI leader has not given agriculture tax on his land. He also said that the PTI leader had mentioned his name Fawad Ahmad in his CNIC while he goes by Fawad Chaudry.
