KARACHI: Outgoing CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah and Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan have named Fazlur Rehman as the caretaker CM.
A news source said that the outgoing chief minister Murad Ali Shah and opposition leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan agreed upon Rehman’s name as the caretaker CM. The decision was followed by a meeting that lasted for more than two-and-a-half hour after which they announced the name.
Along with Outgoing CM Murad Ali Shah, former provincial ministers Mukesh Chawla and Nasir Shah were present.
From opposition, along with Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan, MQM-P leader Faisal Subzwari was present.
Fazlur Rehman has served in the capacity of Chief Secretary of Sindh from 2007 to 2010. He had taken retirement afterwards his term.
According to news sources it was the opposition parties that had proposed Fazlur Rehman’s name for the caretaker CM Sindh’s post.
Fazlur Rehman is expected to take the oath as the caretaker CM Sindh on Friday. He would be sworn in by the Governor Sindh Mohammad Zubair.
