Islamabad: Government of Pakistan requested Interpol for the red warrant against Hussain and Hassan Nawaz.
The government approached Interpol for issuance of red warrant against Hussain and Hassan Nawaz. Both are the sons of former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) contacted headquarters of International Criminal Police Organization/International Police (ICPO-Interpol) on behalf of the Government of Pakistan. However, the headquarter is located at Lyon, France.
According to sources, yesterday, a request was sent to Interpol in this regard from FIA’s Islamabad headquarter. According to sources, the request states that Pakistani court issued arrest warrant for both sons of Nawaz Sharif.
Earlier, the accountability court issued red warrant against Hussain and Hassan Nawaz in the Avenfield Reference. In addition, judge also ordered to immediately present both of them before the court.
The Avenfield Reference verdict came against Nawaz Sharif and his family. The Accountability Court sentenced the imprisonment of 10, 7, and 1 year to Nawaz, Maryam, and Captain Safdar (retd) respectively. The court also fined Nawaz Sharif and Maryam 8 million and 2 million Pounds respectively. All three leaders later moved to Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.
