Field Marshal Asim Munir Awarded Saudi Arabia’s Highest Honor, King Abdulaziz Medal

Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has been conferred the highest civilian award of Saudi Arabia, the King Abdulaziz Medal due to his remarkable efforts to enhance bilateral defense relationships and strategic coordination between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The statement availed by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) revealed that Field Marshal Asim Munir was awarded the esteemed prize upon a visit to Saudi Arabia. During the visit, he also attended a top-tier meeting with Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman.

The ISPR reported that the meeting was dedicated to the issues of common interest, such as the regional security dynamics, the cooperation between defense and military, and the changing strategic environment in the region. Both parties renewed their interest in improving defense cooperation and strengthening the enduring strategic alliance between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Discussions also covered emerging geo-strategic challenges, reflecting shared concerns over regional stability and security. The award highlights the strong, historic ties between the two brotherly nations and acknowledges Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and security in the region.

The King Abdulaziz Medal is one of Saudi Arabia’s most prestigious honors, bestowed upon individuals who render exceptional services to the Kingdom and its international partnerships.
