Five-Day Polio Vaccination Drive Commences on October 2, Aiming to Protect 800,000 Children

Polio Vaccination Drive – In an effort to safeguard the health of the younger generation, a comprehensive five-day anti-polio campaign is set to kick off in the district on October 2. This initiative aims to administer vital polio drops to an estimated eight hundred thousand children. The campaign planning meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mahar Shahid Zaman Lak, brought together key stakeholders to coordinate their efforts.

Among the attendees were Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Muhammad Asad Chandia, Health CEO Dr. Idrees Leghari, and representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF. Deputy Commissioner Mahar Shahid Zaman Lak expressed his commitment to the cause, emphasizing the importance of eradicating polio from the region. He underscored the significance of ensuring the proper training of polio officers, teams, and workers to achieve this goal.
