Former military officer General Faiz Hameed has been handed a 14-year sentence of rigorous imprisonment, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

It addressed four charges under the Pakistan Army Act, including involvement in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of authority and government resources, and causing unlawful harm to others.
The ISPR affirmed that, following an extended legal battle, General Faiz Hameed’s punishment was declared and he was convicted of all the charges. This sentence will be implemented on 11 December, 2025.
The proceedings have brought to the fore the military Pakistan legal system which has held senior leadership accountable. Officials pointed out that General Faiz Hameed had shown no obstacles to internalizing the orders of the court, which is one of the few high profile military enforcement actions.
The four accusations, which are concerned with political and administrative malpractice, emphasize on the strictness of the Pakistan Army Act by the military. The ISPR pointed out that the decision is the one that came after extensive research and legal analysis.
